Managing Pediatric Respiratory and Cardiac Arrest

Pediatric patients present complex challenges which require special training and education. The need to arrive quickly often poses safety challenges and hazards that EMS personnel need to be aware of. EMS professionals who do not follow emergency vehicle driving procedures or who are not aware of the dangers of driving an emergency services vehicle not only put their own lives in danger, but also the lives and wellbeing of others in danger.

We now live in a world where first responders are dealing with emergencies that they have never been faced with before. EMS professionals may not trained for acts of terrorism or other types of disasters, but with the uncertainties in the world today, it's important to have the skills and education needed to respond to these acts or disasters if they happen.
